Rainbow

We have found a nice place to walk Ozzie up above Spring Lake where he doesn't have to be on a leash. We went there this morning and discovered that almost the whole walk is in the shadow of the mountain and the weather has definitely turned. Ozzie had no problem making a headlong dash into the pond, but the two of us were not sufficiently wrapped up for the cold and practically ran around the circuit, forcing Ozzie to charge after us with his stick.

We almost had a proper ceilidh at Acre coffee this morning. A man was sitting on a bench with his fiddle singing Irish ballads in a very authentic and pleasant Irish tenor. Nobody seemed to be paying any attention to him except us, and OiIlMan thought we should give him some money. The next thing we knew he was talking to someone we couldn't see at a table opposite him. By the time we left, the fellow at the table was singing his own ballad. I've put pictures of both of them in the extras. It was quite extraordinary for a suburban shopping center in Santa Rosa. If we hadn't been next to the parking lot I might have started dancing...well, maybe not, but it was tempting.

Just as I sat down to write this, I realized that despite the considerable blue sky with fluffy white clouds, it was raining. As I was taking in the things from the clothesline (don't ask) I looked around for a rainbow, but not for very long because I didn't have any shoes on. However, Dana and Jim arrived for dinner just a few minutes later and Dana had caught the entire rainbow with even a faint shadow of a second one above it, so she has the guest spot today.
