Distant Horizons

A lovely laughy late evening with B staying over for a few days led to a frosty early start. It was so nice that I even pottered around the garden for a while.
One of the downsides of a large garden is that it's easy to do a lot for very little visible reward, but it was good to see the green shoots appearing in the beds.

Later in the day my aunt and uncle visited.
For various reasons it's been a long time since we saw each other, and it was an afternoon of laughter and catching up. Whilst waiting for Mrs Itth to return from meetings and B to return from a paddling course I decided to take A&U up to see the murmuration.
‎The sweep of expanse as you drive onto the Moor always looks huge compared to the way the mountains usually limit the horizon and became today's blip by default. Sadly whilst the sunset was glorious, to the North the sky was very dark and didn't lend itself to photographing the murmuration.

I'm pleased to report that so far 30,000 starlings seem totally unbothered by the land owner's attempts to move them on.
