Female Phainopepla

... aka female Silky Flycatcher.

We are now comfortably ensconced at our son's home in Las Vegas after a long drive from Tucson late in the day yesterday.   When we are here we love exploring the many hiking trails of Red Rock Canyon and today we went up to Red Rock Springs where we saw several of these silky flycatchers.  

It is quite cold for Las Vegas as has been our entire trip.  In fact, today we are only in the low 40's here.  We brought shorts and t-shirts that it appears we will never get to wear.  Cold temps are forecast for the rest of our time here.
