A slice of Lesley's life

Happy birthday Anna!

And today is finally and actually her 7th birthday. This might look like it was taken first thing this morning. Actually it was taken about 10 minutes go as she went to bed. First thing this morning was largely taken up with turning the kitchen into a cafe as we prepared a Big Birthday Brunch for 10 (well, 9, it's fair to say the 7week old didn't eat too many sausages). It originally was going to be a lunch but J's football match was scheduled for 12.30pm way over SE London somewhere and Carl had a band rehearsal this afternoon so we changed the birthday celebratory meal. It did mean there was no cake but there were still pancakes and chocolate sauce which is practically a cake.

Once everyone left Anna and I enjoyed a quiet few hours playing with some of her presents - one of the most popular being a library set complete with date stamp. We had a lot of fun choosing books from around the house and Carl will be in for a nice surprise the next time he wants to read / borrow his favourite book. Thank you so much AuntySooB.

A little trip into Chiswick to buy birthday sushi for lunch and cakes for our afternoon visitors. And onced we'd finished being sociable, snuggling up on the sofa to watch Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory and last night's Strictly.

Now, Carl is home from rehearsal and we find ourselves again with the Sunday night, will we stay awake for Homeland challenge...

A bursting brilliant birthday weekend,
Lesley x
