Charity Bikers

My blip is taken from our garden, this guy had enough energy to lift a hand to me, the leader looks totally pooped and I can understand why. The extra also taken from my garden as they came up the hill.
The principal aim of the ride is raise money for local South Canterbury Charities. This year $150,000 has been raised and in its 14 year history the ride has raised $1.75 million - wow !

From the website - The Charity Bike Ride is an annual three day event held every February and is the only one of its kind in New Zealand. Cyclists from all over New Zealand and as far afield as Australia participate in the Ride and along the way will enjoy three days of fun and friendship as well as some of New Zealand's most spectacular scenery.
DAY ONE
The Cyclists travel from Timaru to Tekapo via Burkes Pass staying at the Army Barracks for the night.
DAY TWO
The next leg of the journey provides some spectacular scenery as the cyclists ride past Lake Pukaki and on to Twizel then to Omarama for lunch, they then ride on to Kurow where they stay overnight in various locations.
DAY THREE
The final leg of the journey has cyclists riding from Kurow via Waimate to Timaru.  The 369km journey is complete and cyclists will unwind at the Charity Dinner held at the Phar Lap Raceway at 6pm
