Butterbur

A couple of days ago Talpa blipped the flower buds of Butterbur ( Petasites albus ) forcing their way up out of the ground. That was in Aberdeenshire.

That prompted me to look at our local patch of this attractive plant. To my surprise I found that many flowering heads were open.

I guess I should not be too surprised as we must be about 250 miles south and we have the west coast influence of the Gulf Stream.
