Beach ahoy!

The grand plan of the day had been to drive to Sioux City, a tourist attraction in the island interior which consists largely of a set used by Sergio Leone in one of his spaghetti westerns, but circumstances changed that plan and we ended up spending a very quiet day instead.

We did manage a bit of exploration of a part of Playa where we hadn't been before, doing a circuit of a block which included a stop-off for breakfast at the beach. A really nice amenity here is a high-level walkway which runs parallel to the sea and finishes at the hotel we watched the sunset from some days ago. This is part of it, with Carl doing some spying on the sun-worshippers down below.

The afternoon was unbelievably lazy, and then the evening followed the usual routine. We'd decided in advance to go cheap-and-cheerful for our evening meal. Most places have set meals on offer, but they tend not to mention these when they bring the menu to the table. This time we made a point of asking for the set three-course meal at a little place called Entre Nous in the Yumbo Centre. For only 19 euro we had a really excellent meal of fine French cooking. Another recommendation for anyone visiting Playa del Inglés/Masmalomas.
