During this time of ice and snow affecting many parts of the country travellers will be grateful to those battling to keep the main roads clear.  In Scotland there is a map which is updated constantly and shows the registration and position of each gritter.
Some of them have funny names as can be seen on the map. Outside the area on this map are Grittie Gonzales. Sparkle, Sir Grits-a-Lot, Frosty, Salty Tom, Ice Destroyer and several others.
