high walls make good neighbours...

Walls have their uses. They protect, they enclose, they support, they mark out territory. Rural walls are often works of art.
They have another side, however. They can divide, they can limit movement, they can define freedoms, they can stop us seeing "the other".
Even when physical, so called "peace walls" come down, the walls in the mind may continue. They are often the hardest to demolish.
So, we need to ensure that we do not build higher walls between us and "the others" by what we say or do, how we act and how we use those walls.
We need to be people who remove bricks and not those who build higher walls, because high walls do not create good neighbours!
