A meal of mealworms

It's been another day of snow showers and there have been lots of birds on the feeders. I had this new mealworm feeder for Christmas but the birds are still quite wary of it.  I very rarely get starlings in the garden but today one arrived and was determined to get at the worms even though it was set to the height of the smaller birds. Any higher and the jackdaws come and eat everything).

Tonight I went to a meeting of local residents to try to get motorists to stop speeding down my road. The police won't do anything unless there's a fatality which is unacceptable so we're trying to get the council to act on our behalf (we've been trying for at least 30 years). The first step is a survey of traffic numbers and speed, fingers crossed we can get something done this time.
