A slice of Lesley's life

Spot the Dog

Doggy day care cancelled so snow day for the pup. I was a little uncertain how slippy and dangerous it might be taking her out but entirely unnecessary fears as it was all rather splendid in the glorious sunshine on fresh crispy snow. Looking at the temperatures tonight I suspect tomorrow might be a different story.

But today Chiswick House and Gardens looked magnificent in its snowy garb. This path, for instance, wouldn’t normally get a look in for a photo op but today was punching well above its weight. And Albi had a ball. Even lying down and chewing sticks as she really doesn’t feel the cold in her fur coat. I did have to stop her from wandering onto the icy lake which she was very keen on.

J’s school was closed from first thing which caused him to rush into our room and do an actual jig which was an entertaining way to start the day .

Carl stayed at home as the district line got one whiff of the snow and collapsed in a heap.

And Anna was at home as she has been suffering a lot from headaches recently and had an eye appointment this morning and by lunchtime her school had closed too. Carl took her for the first appointment which saw her needing glasses and a little bit failing a peripheral vision test. Much later in the day I took her back to retake it with fresh eyes but there was still a small blind spot which is probably irrelevant but they’ve recommended going to the docs for a second opinion.

In between the dog walk and the opticians I ran a webinar as there is no such thing as a snow day when you work virtually. And braved the snowy streets to meet a friend for lunch.

I suspect the next couple of days might be a lot more indoorsy.
