Another hydrangea on the deck

A day of planning meetings, broken by an attempt to observe a registrar doing an interview. Unfortunately the patient had been given sedation late this morning and by early afternoon she was sleeping and despite trying couldn't really take part in an interview.

Training has become much more standardised than it used to be as the College strives to achieve reliability of assessment. There certainly was marked variation in the way things happened in the past. I do worry that the greater reliability of assessment has come at the expense of validity; that what we are measuring/rating does not always reflect the sort of practice we want from our trainees.

Anyway, I wasn't able to find a time to look for a photograph until quite late this evening and it is another flower in a pot on the deck.
