Donaldson's School

Donaldson’s School was designed by William Henry Playfair and opened in 1851 for 200 boys and 200 girls and allowed for special bursaries for poor children. Applications on behalf of deaf children were encouraged andin 1938 the Royal Institute for Deaf and Dumb merged into it. It's now been converted into luxury flats.

It's quite close to where we're staying and I was pleased to be able to get a shot this morning through the railings on West Coates with a perfect blanket of snow in front of it and a bit of a stormy sky above. We're back to 'orange' warnings now and should back to yellow tomorrow. I hope I might be able to get a bit further afield then.
