Snowy Woodland

The snow blizzards continued throughout the day but luckily for me they held off until I got into the woods at John Muir Country Park when I was taking the dogs a walk this morning. What was so unusual to see was the white snow stripe marking most of the trees where the blizzard had blown against the tree trunks. Most snow I have encountered in the UK previously has settled gently from large snow flakes floating down but today's weather has been a constant stream of tiny flakes blown almost horizontally by the wind, hence these tree stripes.
