Snowblocked

I'm not in Seville :-(((
Instead, we are thoroughly snowed in again. This fine, dry snow we blithely thought wasn't settling sufficiently last night to worry about was blown around into impassable drifts by this morning. So the price we pay for a glorious view is being up a very long track up a hill which, in exceptional circumstances like these, becomes an issue. The mildly frustrating thing is that a snowplough arrived just that tad too late for us to get to the airport on time ... but by then we had already decided against going and my mindset was all wrong for a mad dash!
The good thing is that the cleared drive meant we could manage a quick whizz to local shops to stock up on the basics we'd deliberately run low on. But the window was closing as we slipped and ploughed our way back up the track. This white stuff has a sense of determination about it and has decided we are to stay put! We saw quite a few Redwings and Fieldfares about, particularly on the verges where the snow was less thick under hedgerows.
So, LH got on the phone to the travel insurance company and Poppydog and I had a magical, pristine walk in the woods. I loved the delicate tapestry of fallen pine twigs and the mini drifts it had created. Extra is Poppydog photobombing my other shot!
Another extra or two: of Pd bouncing in the snow with hazel catkins pretending Spring is here; plus the drifts down the track (in case you thought I was wimping out!).
Hope you are safe and warm wherever you are - that's all that matters.
