Winter wonderland??

The whole country is in chaos.  There were 200 vehicles stranded over night on the A303 near Ilminster and many more up country and so it goes on......

We awoke with 6 or 7 inches of snow outside, our east facing windows had a nice professional frosted glaze (extra photos) but at least we still had electricity and warmth.  T and B had the frozen pipes on the farm to contend with again but everything else was manageable.  T drove across the fields to us rather than risk the impassable and icy lanes.

So as to liven up the day I made some scones and we had the neighbours to tea.  They were fine, just suffering a frozen waterpipe in their  loft which was dealt with with a hairdryer!  The walk down to us was pretty hairy but all was well.

The worst, hopefully is over .... temperatures will be rising so we must be on the lookout for floods!
