Goldfinches

The male goldfinch at right is starting to colour up with brighter yellow feathers. In about a month, he will be as yellow as a lemon with black wings. Gotta look good to impress the female finches such as the one at left who also gain a bit more colour but not nearly as bold as the gentlemen. These stick around all winter. However, on the migratory front, this week saw our first American robins and redwing blackbirds (they usually flock together during migrating seasons).
