Nursery & Hospital

Backblipped on 22nd October 2012

In the hospital cage (with the darker bars) you can see Edgar and Edwin going about their business. By this stage, Edwin was responding well to his medication and starting to come to terms with his head tilt. We'd had to move both boys to a different hospital cage because Edgar had discovered how to open the door on the first one and had started taking himself out on his own private free-range sessions round our bedroom!

The nursery cage was set up ready for Apple, and her two daughters - Omena and Jabuka, who were about to move in. Apple was rescued when she was already pregnant (with 15) and I'd been following Omena and Jabuka's progress since they were born. I can't remember exactly what day they came round, but it was somewhat delayed because the person who'd been looking after them through the birth and rearing process was actually in hospital, with cellulitis, contracted through a rat bite! Lots of bitey rats around at the moment it seems!

Anyway, the cages took up most of what was left of our bedroom floor. Some would say our bedroom is quite large. However, it's also rather full!!!
