Brief Encounter

Many people know that Sir David Lean’s 1946 famous film “Brief Encounter” was shot on Carnforth Railway Station.
The town and the station have made much of it fame and the latter now has a Heritage Centre where you can sit and watch the film and wallow in a bit of romantic nostalgia. You can have tea in the refreshment room which featured in the film and enjoy the displays in several rooms.

As we were in Carnforth this afternoon we thought we would call in for some tea and a look round.
One of the extras shows the train carriage door which featured in the film. The other shows that great consideration was given to old men with failing eyesight. In a few years I may be grateful.
