A walk on the base track - home ground

Back in the seaside town l grew up in. Mount Manganui, on the east coast, in the Bay of Plenty. We started the day by meeting up with a cousin whom l had not seen for over 40 years. Coffee, muffins (hot) and lots of chat.
This afternoon walked around the base of the Mount and this is where the photo of trees came from. These trees are pohutukawa, known affectionately as New Zealand's Christmas tree as their lovely red flowers come out at that time. They always grow at beaches and have been shading picnic groups for decades.
Extras include a pohutukawa flower (really finished now) and a Norfolk pine, this one is special because it grows outside where our house used to be and as a child l used to climb and swing in it.
The last extra is of my childhood beach, albeit much busier now.
