Sandy, Turk, Rupert, Wedgy, Joey, Smudge and ?

This is a picture of what I can only presume are some faithful gun dog graves in the grounds of Peover Hall, close to the lovely St Lawrence's chapel. Not sure if the tombstone sizes relates to dog type or status. The poor fella on the far right seems really short-changed, in that you can't even see his or her faded name anymore (the cruel thought did occur to me that perhaps it was the old owner).

The Grade I listed Hall is an Elizabethan house actually built in 1585 by Sir Randle Mainwaring. It was requisitioned during the Second World War as an HQ for General Patton of the US Army. A POW camp was also based there allegedly during the war.
