Koi in Motion

Didn't it rain?! The pond has overflowed. The lawn squelches underfoot. Every step squeezes out water.

Len is marking assignments. Basil and I ventured out around 2 pm to drive to Woodland Garden Centre in Sutton Cheney in search of a few odds and ends.

Wonderful displays of miniature daffodils, a wide variety of hellebore and masses of multi coloured primulas. A joy to behold. I added several items to the trolley.

Shannon in the pet department looked after Basil while I went to the loo, then we found the small cafe which has a limited dog friendly section. Only four tables, all of which were occupied while the rest of the cafe was virtually empty. Several people obviously had the same idea as me.

But I was able to enjoy a plate of gluten free cheese and tomato sandwiches, which had to be brought over from the main restaurant, and a delicious lemon meringue muffin with my latte.

Just had to buy three of the wonderful giant meringues before leaving. I was able to park Basil with the trolley right by the boundary of the food hall. He was able to see me which prevented him from barking the premises down while I made the transaction.

We visited the aquatic section. All but one of the fish tanks was empty/being cleaned. The colours of koi are gorgeous. I used a multi exposure in camera to record today's shot. Extra is of a stone Buddha resting amongst the primulas.

Home in the rain and popped in to say Hello to Colin on the way.
