Panorama

As usual, excellent weather for the Tuesday walk. Unfortunately it was hazy, so the panorama wasn't as panoramic as it might have been -- we couldn't see the Pyrenees. Also, there were 40 people on the walk, which was too many ...enough to cause traffic jams in places where the path was narrow.

We finally got to see Three Billboards in Carcassonne last night and really enjoyed it; two hours passed without a dull moment. Frances McDormand is always fabulous, but she excelled in this. In fact all the actors were excellent except for the hopelessly miscast Australian who played the police chief's wife. I think the screenplay should have got an Oscar too. I know there were implausibilities/plot-holes, but I loved the way it swerved off in unexpected directions, taking the film to a place quite different from what you might expect. And what it lacked in plot plausibility it made up for in believable characters and wonderful scenes of both pathos and very black humour. So if you haven't seen it I highly recommend it.
