Tiny Tuesday : : Echeveria

If it's not one thing it's another. We were awakened at 2am by Ozzie, who was panting and anxious, walking in circles and acting like he wanted to go outside. Not only is it really dark at night here, but it was raining. OilMan and I took turns trying to figure out what he wanted to no avail (and no sleep). We all finally fell asleep in three different places at about 5am.

When we staggered up at 7:30, Ozzie was his usual self. We think the culprit might be the hand blended fertilizer that OilMan put on the lantana. The idea of making his own fertilizer appealed to OilMan  at some point, and Ozzie thought it was pretty delicious, which is probably why he kept disappearing outside in the dark, but it seems safe to say that it didn't exactly agree with him. And OilMan is rethinking the charms of blending his own fertilizer.

OilMan has been outside between rain showers trying to dig in the hand blended fertilizer and put up some kind of fencing around the lantana to keep Ozzie out of it.

I bought the fuzzy red and red/orange succulent several years ago, and stuck it in the ground where it has not died but not exactly flourished either. I think it is an echeveria, but have lost the tag that I put in the ground with it. It seems to have grown quite a bit and bloomed this year and I love the colors. I got close enough to show it's fuzzy coat which seems appropriate in this week which is supposed to produce a fair amount of rain.

My brother and his wife are coming tomorrow for a little visit. Too bad the weather isn't a little better, but it really doesn't matter....
