Pleasant pheasant filching food for finches

Caught this striking chap strutting round the garden this morning, having a good look at everything and generally pecking at the grass. I think he thought Christmas had come early when he found the little table on the ground filled with good things for a pheasant to eat, he even stayed there eating when I came right up to the window with the camera. He wasn't too confident and really kept a close eye on me, I don't blame him as there are sometimes shoots in the area and I guess the game birds must become wary of someone pointing something at them, but he was safe in my garden, I'm not a pheasant plucker ;-)
