Sunny Woods

The Campervan saga rumbles on!
Mr K called today for a collection date because he could see online that the MOT has been done.
The Bongo man said we could collect it on Friday. If we didn't mind not having the tow bar.
The tow bar we'd specifically asked for as an extra because we'll want to put a rack on the back for a box to transport all the stuff we'll need!
So, yes we do mind not having it!!!
So it'll be some time next week. Apparently!
It was lovely and sunny again today. I was feeling guilty for not taking Archie to Stowe with me yesterday so I took him for an extra long walk round the woods this afternoon.
Miss L and I had the usual "discussion" about swimming:
Her: Do I have to go swimming?
Me: No. I can cancel your lessons.
Her: No, don't cancel them. Can I just not go this week?
Me: You say that every week. I'll just cancel the lessons.
Her: General wailing and sobbing and eventual begrudging agreement to go to her stupid swimming lessons!
As usual she loved the lesson!
Then it was a dash to get Miss E from After School Club, get home and get them dinner before Nana and Papa arrived and we headed out to Miss E's Parent's Evening.
My heart had sunk a little when Miss E warned me on the way home that her teacher was going to talk to us about her behaviour. Sigh.
Every parents evening we've ever been to has basically consisted of being told how good she is and how well she's doing.
So tonight was a bit different.
She's doing very well work wise but over the last few weeks there have been a few incidents of her saying mean things to other children. Nothing too awful - and she insists she's just joking or it's just a game.
We told her teacher that we'd had words and we would continue to have words. She needs to understand that it doesn't matter what her intentions are it's other people's reactions that matter.
She seems genuinely contrite - she has never really been in trouble and clearly doesn't like it - so hopefully this'll be the end of it.
We went to see The Darkest Hour tonight after Parent's Evening.
Dinner was Italian BMTs on Hearty Italian from Subways, tea from Starbucks and a giant vat of popcorn from the kiosk!
The film was amazing. Fantastic performances by a great cast.
