Starcross Wharf

We don't tend to use the term 'wharf' as often in the UK as they do in other countries. I've come to like the term after travelling in NZ and south east Asia. This pier on the Exe Estuary in Starcross that's used for the Exmouth Ferry and River Cruises seems to me very much a wharf in its style. The ferry doesn't run until after Easter so I couldn't get out there today for a locked gate but I liked the view from here. You access the wharf by going onto the station, then over the footbridge to the 'up' platform, then walk down a footway to turn onto the pier.

Sounds like we've got some chilly weather coming in for the weekend with a yellow warning for snow and ice on Sunday (Edit: we've been upgraded. It's an amber warning now). Ho hum, it shouldn't last long as it should get warmer after the weekend. Stay sheltered if you're going to get more where you are.
