An Excitement of Birders

Today I went to Sculthorpe Moor Nature Reserve on my way to Morrisons. When I arrived they told me that a Bittern had been spotted at Victor's Hide, which explained why there were so many cars in the car park. The hide was full of people with binoculars, scopes and long lenses on their cameras who were getting very excited at a distant siting of a Bittern's neck and head in amongst some reeds. Last year I saw several Bitterns at an RSPB reserve, a couple quite close, so I found it all quite amusing and my best photo with my longest lens and enlarged was only good enough to show as an Extra and even then he's difficult to spot!.  I hope you enjoy the postcard instead.
