Minding the Chicks

I spent the morning at the rookery at the Alligator Farm here in St. Augustine.  I am just a few weeks too early to find lots of chicks, but much nest building, mating, and brooding were going on so there will be lots of them in no time.  Fortunately, there was one Great White Egret nest with chicks as well as one Roseate Spoonbill nest, but the chicks weren't visible.

In this shot, Mom and Dad had just changed places and for a brief time, the little ones popped their heads up.  I knew it would have to be my blip.  I have loaded a few others showing the breeding plumage on the Snowy Egrets, Mom & Dad GW Egret at the nest, the Roseate Spoonbills minding their chicks, and a couple of others.
