At last.

I'd never have believed it.
By Jerra's criteria I water very infrequently; and yet last season I was bemoaning the lack of flower and surplus of leaves.
A friend, down country, suggested I was over-watering; so I stopped. Behold the result.
All the existing leaves slowly died back, making them, after removal, look like the bulbs do at purchase. I thought they had been cut off; maybe, apparently, not, since both the solitary leaf and the flower both developed after the enforced drought.
If I may be allowed a lapse into the vernacular:-

"Whaw'd a thowt it?"

OK! I know they now aren't so called; but I suspect all the others are so tagged (IF at all).
