West Norwood blips

Nearly ready

Got my first chance to look round the 'new' theatre. After more than 2 years the Old Fire Station in West Norwood is nearly ready to be a theatre again. The builders left yesterday evening and while lights were being rigged and a rehearsal was going on in the main theatre space, a bunch of volunteers started to clean the rest of the building. This mainly involved sweeping up brick dust. I've breathed in clouds of it!

The first show opens on Tuesday (tonight - as I'm uploading this late). There's still a lot of work to be done - floors need laying, walls need painting. But it won't rain in the back row or the lighting box anymore! And the basement bar has a fire escape!

There's still one or two health and safety issues to be fixed - see extra!
