A Cloud Of

An Irish lesson this morning after a four week break, just because one or other of the four of us was busy, Phew - I could remember nuffin. Today we were learning riddles which were bad enough in English let alone in Irish. Try this for size:
Droichid ar loch
gon mhaide gan chloch

Roughly translated:
Bridge on the lake
without sticks or stones
Any ideas???

On my way home a quick trespass for I spotted this field of daffodils dancing in front of the abandoned house, I love the house and I love the way the daffs just keep on going, with human intervention or not.  Inside, on the windowsills of the old house, withered pots of geraniumns are still miraculously flowering too. It might do for the bitch romantic bichromatic challenge too and Wild Wednesday.

A very enjoyable evening last night - an excellent meal at the Fish Kitchen and even though the food is predominantly fishy (odd that), they had a choice of three veggie options so I was well catered for. And I got the candle with my pudding in an error of birthday recipients! The film, A Fantastic Woman, was interesting though odd - rather unbelievable with a lot of red herrings, but the main woman was excellent and portrayed the vunerability of a partner left behind when an older lover dies unexpectedly and is left in clutches of a pretty horrible family.

And still banging on about the start of Spring. Most countries follow the meteorological year but we follow the astronomical year - based on the equinoxes and solstices (quarter days) and the cross quarter days when the main Celtic festivals were celebrated Imbolc (Ist Feb, renewed life/regrowth, Spring) Bealtine (Ist May growth in full swing, Summer); Lunasa (Ist August harvest, Autumn) and Samhain ( Ist November, going into the dark, Winter).  It's not just me and there's a diagram!

And a spot of Van Morrison for a blip friend, he'll know who he is !
