Life through the lens...

1st Day of Spring

Today would have been my Mum’s 112th birthday.
She always regarded the day as the First Day of Spring.
I still do, but apparently as from 2008 it moved to the 20th March.
Anyhow whenever it starts, it felt more Springlike today, and to celebrate we visited Harlow Carr gardens for the first time this year.
On arrival we were greeted with this beautiful display of winter heathers.
Also the Winter garden walk was full of colour and looked stunning.
The rest of the garden was still sleeping, except for some snowdrops, a few crocus and little early daffs.
On our walk round we called in at the bird hide.
The feeders were extremely busy.
Bullfinches, cole tits, woodpecker, nuthatches, chaffinches, robins, and many others.

Called at Majestic on the way home to stock up on wine, ( our French wine has now almost run out unfortunately)
Good end to a lovely day.

Extras ....Winter Walk, and a friendly thrush.
