Rattling

Glorious sunny day for the first day of spring.  But perishing cold.

Mostly another work day, though I have the feeling I'm crawling out from under it a bit, and the mental to-do list has been shortened to a manageable length.  Time this afternoon to pop back up to plant heaven to collect our new cherry tree, which is a perfect size and resplendent with fat buds (it's a late blossoming one - chosen to avoid frost risk).  Some other plants seem to have fallen into the car also...

Out again then for catch up shopping and securing the last bags (it seems) of wood pellets in the town.

With a general strike tomorrow, the kids were full of chat about whether they'd have any lessons (TG yes - until noon; CB no idea, but there are no surveillants so he can't stay for lunch).  Hadn't even occurred to me to think about air traffic controllers - who seem to see strikes as a professional obligation - but sure enough Mr B called with news that his flight tomorrow was cancelled.  While I looked for options for him on Friday, he had a different idea and called his secret airline number to get the last ticket to France today!

And so he arrived home at 10, much chat, and a later night than is normal on a Wednesday.
