Tree bark

I'm not good at identifying trees; I can just about spot an oak (only by the leaves) and a silver birch (only because I have one in the garden). Beyond that they are all trees, so I don't know what this is. The bark looks like it has cracked into irregular plates, so it makes a good subject if you want wood texture.
