Sunshine Yellow

I am grateful that the sun is out, really I am, but honestly 8° feeling like 7° is hardly worth hanging out the flags, and certainly not contemplating an al fresco lunch even if His Lordship is sitting outside in heavy duty coat, scarf and bunnet.Anyway best not get too excited when more snow is threatened next weekend;keeping expectations low is the way to go.

The pre Easter hordes of tourists seemed happy enough when we braved their chain gang approach to sightseeing as we sought out our favourite walnut loaf from M&S.
Then it was back home via a sun kissed Princes Street where the beggars were sitting topping up their Vitamin D as they counted their donations, to the Farmers’ market to buy Bakery Andante’s fennel loaves stuffed with sultanas and tasting of liquorice. It will still be hot soup for lunch, cold salads are weeks away yet.

A bunch of daffodils on the dining room table lifts our spirits with their yellow exuberance.
