Confidence

We've had a great few days up here for the Stirling Spring Weekend.  Yesterday we ran a Middle Distance in the woodland surrounding the Wallace National Monument, then we drove to Rosyth for a Sprint Race around a complex housing estate.  We were also helping on the Start and Finish for the Sprint Race so it was a long day.  We just had time to get back to the Premier Inn, shower and walk out in to the city for dinner at Henderson's Bistro.

Today we drove north beyond Dunblane and out in to beautiful wildness for an event based at Auchingarrich Wildlife Park, home to the tartan sheep!  We were helping on the Finish again so I ran early and had the forest to myself for the first nine controls.  It's a technical area with much dark green (thick forest!) so it was important to use the slivers of lighter forest and more open areas to navigate and avoid getting caught up in dense trees.  I very much enjoyed my run, finishing about half way down the results which will do for me!

Back at the Wildlife Park when we had packed up the Finish gear, we enjoyed a much needed late lunch of delicious home made soup and then it was back south to Stirling, showers and out to Italia Nostra for a last night dinner.

Tomorrow morning we will visit the Wallace Monument properly before heading home.  My blip shows Tam leaping the stream before the Finish without a second thought, oh for young legs and that confidence of youth!
