Himeji Castle

Beautiful weather to explore this world heritage site. It’s known as the White Heron Castle as the white plaster walls are said to resemble a white heron in flight.

Sadly, we arrived a few days too early for the full blossom experience, but there was enough out to give a hint as to why it’s so celebrated in Japan.

Freshly made udon noodles for lunch. So fresh we were watching the man make them as we waited to be served!
