AN EASTER SCENE WITH TWO CATS

Till we reach the river Weser for our walk we always find pretty scenes in the gardens and the wintergarten of the houses we walk along.
But today it was a surprise to see two cats, quietly sitting on a coach and an Easter hare standing on a table before the couch in a Wintergarten.
There used to live a dog there, but we don't know if he/she is still living there. Most of the time he barked loudly.
We walked along the Weser and sat on a bench. In the distance a woman came near, and we offered to make place for her. She was holding two sticks, so we thought she would like to have a rest.
But no, she told us, if she would have a rest on the bench she could not stand up again. We offered to help her up again, but she disenclined our help.
We talked for a rather long time with her. She had such a strange story to tell. She had lost first her mother, then her husband, then her cat.
And as a answer to her fate she told us, that she had removed everything in the house, really everything, and now her back was broken, and her knee (one or both?) too.
She said she had better gone walking instead of this hard work on the house. She definitively thought we were a nice couple, anyway she kept smiling at everything we told her. In the almost ten years that we walk there, we never ever had seen her. And we wonder if we will meet again.
We walked back and when we crossed the railroad we saw from above, how far behind she was.
A brave woman! Taking a walk all the way from Wuergassen to our town, and back.
After we had drank our tea, we visited our neighbours, who had travelled in New Zealand for more than four weeks. And they had enjoyed every second of it.

I have given my first silly hearts to evolybab, Tigger101, Hanulli, Mole, and LmiriramC.
