Ermitorio de la Magdalena

Sunny, clear blue sky a gentle breeze.

It appears that someone has flicked the switch and the temperature has risen.   According to the weather forecast for here, we may well miss Storm Hugo.   Fingers crossed.

We went today to a place just off the road to Castellon called Desert Palms.   Ordinarily you would think in Spain it would be a Golf Course, but no it is the location of  a Nature Park, old Castle, and house on a great vantage point looking towards the sea and port of Castellon.

Here are a few photos of our day.   A panoramic view from near the top and a collage in extras showing possibly a fossil of some creature, the castle and a lovely flower on a shrub yet to be identified.   The background is the Crest which is set in tiles on the forecourt.

There were many species of flowers and plants, we could hear the birdsong but none settled long enough as was the case with the butterflies.   Also native there are red squirrel.
