Swans are back!

The village has always had swans on the moat, they're even part of the school's logo.  A year or two ago the old male had to be put down due to problems with his legs and the female and cygnets left immediately. 

Last year a solitary swan stayed for a few days then disappeared but today a pair have appeared. I do hope that they'll stay and nest - it would be lovely to have cygnets again!  I was lucky to get a shot in the sun that came out sporadically after a morning of rain and hail showers.
