Life through the lens...

Dessert.

A lovely day spent catching up with our friends J and F who have just come back from a two month holiday in Australia. New Zealand, and South Africa.
As you imagine we never stopped talking.
Lunch went well.
I cooked Moussaka and salad, followed by Soft Pistachio meringues filled with oranges and rhubarb.
So decided to blip this for today.
We also had some nice wines including a sparkling Vouvray, and a Red Portuguese.

Was very pleased with today’s
Google Doodle
Celebrating the birthday of Hannah Glasse.
A cookery writer, and the woman who “invented” Yorkshire Puddings.

Early variations included a 1737 recipe for “ dripping pudding”.
But the Yorkshire Pudding surged to fame and gained it’s name ten years later in 1747,with the publication of Hannah’s book
The Art of Cookery Made Plain and Easy.
How nice of Google to honour her.
