The Macaron Shop

A far more pleasant day today with plenty of sunshine and blue sky between the clouds. We walked back to to the Cite L'Ecrit for lunch at the Creperie and passed the Macaron shop from yesterday on our way home.

The Macaron shop is a Chocolatier and Confisier and also sells local wines and beers and has a fine selection of flavoured teas too. I may be a regular customer.

We have discovered that there is a waymarked walk from Lathus Saint-Remy all the way to Montmorillon along the Gartempe river. Not sure how long it is, but the road journey is 12 Km. Happily there is a train service from Lathus. We are envisaging train to Montmorillon, sandwiches in rucksack, then wandering home through the French countryside. There is an unbelievable amount of walking to be had in and around Vienne and this makes me feel that we have chosen well. There is also much to see and do in the area. Between all that and the garden, we shall not be bored.

It seems quite odd to be thinking in terms of "going home" tomorrow, especially as it will be some weeks yet before we can take possession, but that is how it feels. I am looking forward to seeing Lathus again.
