Liberty has landed

Any one who has anything to do with Leicester will remember the Liberty Building near the hospital and the statue which gave it it`s name.

When the building demolished some years ago to make way for student accomodation, the statue was put into storage with the idea of it being renovated and replaced on top of the appartments in due course.

It was subsequently realised that the roof wouldn`t actually take the weight of the statue so she has eventually ended up on a very posh granite plinth at the end of Upperton Road to mark the regeneration of the area. And very smart she looks to, especially at night when her torch is lit and the spotlight shines up on her.
