signs of spring

The chestnut trees are always the first to start to bud, so they are a good indication of the season. Despite it being Easter, its still blooming cold, and the trees seem to agree. Things are definitely further behind this year.

Extras are of a highland cow and its calf (just as well the wee thing has lots of fur!)  and some flowering current (I think).
