J and I cleared out a section of rough shrubbiness in the garden this afternoon, stripping out the usual thugs of holly and cherry laurel. The resulting clarity and improved light exposed something unexpected - a sizeable rhododendron (albeit very straggly).

Looking forward to encouraging it back into full health and hopefully even flower.
