Home again, home again.....

and it is very nice to be back home.....even if it is cold, windy and muddy....and of course Chance making me laugh on our walk...he has this habit of bringing home the biggest stick he can find.....he kept stopping to rebalance this one!!

Well that was definitely an adventurous vacation.....mostly it was fabulous, the beaches, the haciendas, the people, the food...the hot sunshine etc., but it was also a very challenging trip.   Getting home basically took us 3 days!  

First we had to drive from the Nosara region - on the coast - to the middle of Costa Rica, San Jose, where our flight left from.   We were recommended to give ourselves 5 hours (the map showed 3 1/2 hours!) but it turned into a 7 hour trip!   we were pretty fried by the time we got to our final bnb for the night......up very early, 4.30 am....and off to the airport.   All that went smoothly .... our flight to Toronto was great, and then we knew we had a 6-7 hour wait till our late night flight home to Sydney.   Around 6 pm we checked to see which gate we would be leaving from but couldn't find the flight.....it had been cancelled due to 'weather'!!!   next available flight for us was 11 am the next morning!   So after digesting this new reality.....i phoned my dear friend Lynne in Toronto and they got us from the airport and we ended up having a very lovely evening together, so it was actually a lovely treat to spend the night at their place.     We finally got home at 4.30 pm yesterday.....3 days later!   Too much sitting and standing in lines for all the various securities etc., has left me with the feeling that i never want to go on another trip...ever!!!!   i know this will pass, and i'm about to start going thro all the beautiful photos i took...and then i'll be reminded of all the fabulous aspects of our trip.   Backblips to come!!
