St Gaultier

Reluctantly, we dragged ourselves away from Thollet this morning. We woke to see a couple of workmen at the motorhome service point though they soon moved off and it became apparent that they were about to cut the hedges that separate the parking bays. We decided to get dressed in a hurry :-)

They had not achieved much gardening when another van turned up and work was exchanged for socialising.

We readied ourselves to leave and backed out to the motorhome drainage point. This prompted the social gathering to break up and the man in the new van came over to show us the right way to bang the rinsing water tap to make it work. He said that the drinking water was not yet working but showed us into a building where we could find a working tap.

We think that he may have been the Mairie. I had emailed a contact email address on Friday and suspect that it had effect after the holiday weekend.

It was a delightful moment.

Although we now had water we did think it best to move on despite our desire to stay. Once we are in the new house we can visit Thollet whenever we wish and I do think that our visits will be frequent.

Tonight we are on a site close to St Gaultier. There is a Voie Verte that runs past and we took advantage of that to walk out as far as the river before an impending thunderstorm drove us home again.

It looks like a fine town and we hope the weather will be suited to an exploration tomorrow.
