It's a baldy bald life!

Back from the Dead

A film, image or act; can it be a cliché if only the viewer is the producer of meanings? Cliché is an illusion. A film, image or act; if one viewer sees it as a clichéd but another does not, what is it then? Cliché is an illusion. Can anything be autobiographical if one's perception of self is an illusion? Self is simply a process of selective thinking. Without thought, there is no self. Will you ever find honesty if self is an illusion?

Work does not exists if the viewer does not see it. Cogito ergo sum. What makes someone an actor? Is it not when someone is performing an act to convey an intended message? If so, then all behaviour is an act. I am an actor. Cogito ergo sum. Self is an illusion.

Peep though a hole, take me baby! Oh Diana, Goddess of the Moon, take me to the edge of explosion. Porn or fine art? Only the perception of the viewer is different, the viewer's act is the same. What the viewer thinks, is.

I was at the Whitworth for the Real Camera Club, a club that focuses on conceptual photography, the image rather than the process. Of course, process is important to learn. However, if it becomes the raison d'être, as with so many things in life, then there is little point in following the process. It certainly beats Stalybridge Camera Club.

Today's presenter was E .J .Major an art photographer graduate of Goldsmiths in London . I didn't get her work. (An hour certainly wasn't sufficient to explore it.) But her work got me. I left with many questions, wishing to explore many perceived contradictions. That is a certain sign that she had provoked thought and emotion.....the aim of art in my mind. My philosophical musings above are related .

I'm pleased with this image as it's my play on a number of themes E.J. presented. The Project Marie Claire RIP was "motivated by a desire to memorialise an unnamed person, a woman who had already died and had no control over the use of her own image". The artist is very much still alive, yet what is the difference between her and the unnamed person? A thought to ponder. Inspirational talk in many ways as it got me thinking so much. Thanks E.J. Major and Ed!

My blip is my narrative.

Love is an illusion, a happy illusion.

On today's photo, all I've done is cropped the image a bit and played with the curve. The hand belongs to the artist.
