War and Peace

Had a wander along the sea-front this morning and thought I'd Blip a picture of the small Oban War & Peace Museum, which, and I quote '. . . . . . . contains a fascinating collection of photographs and artefacts depicting the rich cultural heritage of the busy port town and its people.  You can learn about the fishing and maritime industries, the railway, road transport and local sports, the building of the iconic McCaig’s Tower and the strategic role played by Oban in the war years when the town was home to Australian, Canadian, and US aircrew and RAF flying boats operated from the Bay.'

Very much worth a visit if you're in Oban.
